FERRARI 250 GTO SOLD THE WORLD RECORD PRICE FOR ALMOST $38,000,000
It is confirmed to be the most valuable car with the highest price at a public auction.
At Bonhams’ Quail Lodge auction, A 1962 Ferrari 520 GTO sold for a car collection costs 38,115 millions USD. It is the highest price for a car sold at an auction in history. The previous record was also set by Bonhams with the ex-Fangio 1954 Mercedes-Benz W196R grand prix racer that sold for 29,65 million USD .
Ferrari 250 GTO was auctioned with #3851 GT. It is one of the rare supercars that car collectors dream. However, the produced number of these cars only stopped at 39. In addition, 250 GTO is very great for both road and race, which makes it more popular.
This world record- price supercar was produced in the 19th century and taken care then for at least 49 years from 1965 on. Being launched in September 1962, then Ferrari 250 GTO was bought by a French racer and won the 2nd place at Tour de France 1962.
The car was crashed at a race in Montlhery Autodrome and then was mended and sold to Paolo Colombo racer one year later. Before 250 GTO was sold to Fabrizio Violati in 1965, it was also bought by two other racers. After that, Violati gave this car to Maranello Rosso Museum.
At this time, another Ferrari 250 GTO is for sale in Germany , costing upto 62,7 million USD. However, this car is no master now.
