New supercar generation of German carmaker will strengthen, integrate many advanced technologies and use more light-weight materials.
Much information about the next Audi R8 Supercar generation recently published. Accordingly, the German carmaker will continue to maintain two V8 and V10 engines in the same time with keep focusing on reducing its weight.
Since its invention in 2006, the Audi R8 has quickly become a symbol of Audi, with huge success in the segment of supercar. Despite getting the upgrade no far from now, it has no much been as a well-known supercar. Therefore, the 2015 version is expected to have positive changes such as new chassis structure, LED light with new design and other components.
Meanwhile, two 4.2-litre V8 and 5.2-litre V10 engine now may be continued to be maintained, but both will be tweaked to increase their capacity to 25 horsepower. This means the capacity of the V8 and the V10 will be 450 horsepower and 570 horsepower respectively. To cut their emission and optimize fuel consumption, new Audi R8 will integrate temporary cylinder-interrupt and stop-start technology.
In addition, to reduce the 2015-year Audi R8’s weight, German’s carmaker will use carbon-fiber reinforced plastic with light weight. New version will have changes in design of rear bumper and be attached many other lightweight materials like reinforced composites of glass fiber, carbon fiber, ceramic brake and titanium materials. New Audi R8’s weight will be no more than 1,500 kg.
